This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 12–8 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Food is amazing! The staff is so nice and I love the atmosphere of the space. I was blown away by the collard greens, corn fritters and lamb and goat curry. They didn’t have their drinks when I visited but I will be back to try!

Absolutely transportive! I felt like I was back in South East Asia. They nail everything so well, down to the disposable white plastic plates πŸ˜… the food was all so expertly seasoned. I can't wait to go back. The only thing I wish different is that it was closer to my home!

literally polished off my food to write this review. absolutely excellent food! my first time here and had to do some research. thankfully the reviews helped make the decision easier. place is small, cozy, colorful. this translate to their food; bite size, comforting, and flavorful. the lady behind the counter was very nice and pleasant. took the time to explain the food to a couple in front who was obviously new to the cuisine (as am I). was recommended the beef rendang (beef stew in a coconut base) and had w it collard greens. also had an order of 5x chicken sate (skewers in peanut sauce) and the es teler drink. the 1st bite of the beef rendang and 100% hooked. talk about tendernism! my goodness the flavor! all of the above you could ask for in a tender beef stew - this has it! the greens were soft, paired well w the stew. the sauce over the rice was just perfect! the sates came in 5 and bite sizes but packed a huge flavors! their pickled cabbage salad was a perfect combination w thw savory peanut sauce drenched skewers topped w fried onions. I'm saving the sauce for rice @ home! the drink - which was described to me as sweet, creamy, a bit sour - all up my alley. delicious!

Been here multiple times and will continue to come here whenever I have a craving for indonesian food! Portion size is generous. The sides are all delicious. The drink options they serve are good. Recommend the Beef Rendang and Bakwan.

Hardena, a gem we discovered years ago on Food Network, finally made it onto our Philadelphia itinerary! While street parking can be tricky, a nearby paid lot offered a convenient solution. The restaurant itself is cozy, with just a few tables for dine-in. It's more of a fast-casual setup, where you order at the counter. Keep in mind, there's no AC or fan, so it can get warm. Despite the heat, the food truly shines. It's delicious Indonesian cuisine, though not specific to the Surabaya region. Unfortunately, some items sell out quickly, which was the case during our 3 pm visit. While it's on the pricier side, the unique flavors are worth the splurge. Highly recommend Hardena, but be prepared for limited seating and a potentially warm environment.
